RENEW’S TOP 10 TIPS FOR BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY SKIN!

1. EAT YOUR ESSENTIAL OILS! Add Two tablespoons of cold pressed oil to your diet daily. One tbsp flaxseed oil, and one tbsp olive oil, or evening primrose oil added to the diet protects your heart and keeps your skin looking young and plump.
2. GUARD SKIN WITH VITAMIN C! 2000 mg of Vitamin C daily. Vitamin C fights the free radical damage to our cells, which is attributed to most visual aging. Emergen C is a great product that has your B vitamins (great for metabolism, burning fat, regulating hormones, and building muscle) and bioflavonoid (skin savers), as well as 32 mineral absorbents. They now have an organic line! Add to water for a tasty skin hydrator.
3. DRINK YOUR GREENS! Wheat grass, barley grass, or spirulina green drinks are essential for cellular health and for good skin. My favorite is Vibrant Health’s, Green Vibrance with probiotics (good bacteria). This can be purchased at RENEW or Whole foods. 1-2 servings a day! I like to mix my green drink with ¼ cup POM pomegranate juice for flavor and more antioxidants. Also try mixing with an ounce of the new super berry drinks with Gogi, Noni, Mangosteen, and Acai. As with all juices, less is more.
4. SUPPLEMENT YOUR MINERALS! Most of us are deficient in Zinc (20-50 mg) Magnesium (800-1000 mg) and Calcium (500 mg). All are essential to good skin and balancing the body. Consider supplementing these minerals for overall health, vitality and beauty. Check with your doctor if you are under medical supervision.
5. FEED AND WATER YOUR BODY WELL! Lean, organic proteins, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, cultured natural yogurts, essential fatty acids found in cold pressed oils, fiber rich foods, and clean purified water are basics needed daily to keep a strong healthy body. We truly are what we eat! If you want beautiful skin, cut out the refined flour, sugar, carbonation, meat and dairy with hormones and antibiotics, chlorinated water, and pretty much all the preservative laden fast foods we call the American Diet. Stick to the outer edges of the grocery store. That is where the REAL food is. Forget the packaged junk! They cause so much cellular waste it will show all over your face!
Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! You need to drink in ounces at least half your body weight daily just to keep the body functioning properly. For great skin, it is suggested you drink your weight in ounces. (If you weigh 140 lbs, drink 140 oz daily!) Drink clean, purified water daily. NOT TAP! If you don’t have a water purifier it is better to drink distilled water, or electrolyte enhanced water to ensure its purity.
6. GET A SHOWER FILTER! One 10 minute shower can put more chlorine in your system than drinking 10 glasses of water. Chlorine dries out your skin and hair, is a toxic poison and has been linked to the chemical THM which is being linked to breast cancer tissue. You can find great filters at RENEW Wellness Spa, or the local Home Depot. This is the easiest way to eliminate a major toxin source in your life, and improve your health and beauty!
7. EXERCISE DAILY! Without proper oxygenation, the cells cannot be renewed. Simple walking, dancing, rebounding (mini trampoline) or your favorite activity for 30-45 min a day can put the rosy back in your cheeks. Plus, who doesn’t want a hot body to go with beautiful skin!
8. USE NATURAL SUN CARE PROTECTION! Use a daily sunscreen with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. If you see ingredients that start with “benzo” throw them out. They are creating damage to your skin. These chemicals are xenoestrogens, which means they mimic our hormones, throwing off your natural hormonal balance. This contributes to premature aging and other imbalances. Power up your sunscreen by opening a capsule of natural Vitamin A (25000 IU) and vitamin E (400 IU) and mix in your sunscreen in the morn. It’s cheap and provides your skin the antioxidant powerhouses that fight damage all day long!
9. FEED YOUR SKIN AT NIGHT! Cold pressed Grape seed Oil, Jojoba oil, Argan oil, or emu oil feed the skin and allow skin’s metabolic waste to eliminate through the skin while you rest. A few drops rubbed between your palms and patted onto face, neck, and chest will feed the skin and make it glow. Rich creams make the skin work too hard at night. Take a few more drops and pat under eyes, around lips, around hairline, and neck to fight natural signs of aging.
10. RESTORE YOUR SKIN’S ACID MANTLE. Use a daily toner made with one part Bragg’s Apple Cider vinegar to four parts brewed green tea, and four parts purified water, or rose water! Apply with cotton after cleansing. This magic tonic balances, cleanses, tightens and feeds the skin. Store in the refrigerator.
